PADI Freediver Instructors who meet the training and experience requirements of the level and agree to use the PADI System and components in their entirety may apply to become a PADI Advanced Freediver Instructor.

To apply for the PADI Advanced Freediver Instructor rating, you must:
- be a PADI Freediver Instructor
- have a PADI Master Freediver certification (or have a qualifying certification)
- have certified at least 25 PADI Freedivers (or issued 25 qualifying freediver certifications)
- have completed EFR Primary and Secondary Care training (or qualifying training) within 24 months
