PADI Mermaid Instructor

Becoming a PADI Mermaid Instructor lets you take your passion to the next level and allows you to do what you enjoy as a profession. You must earn the PADI Mermaid Instructor rating, but you gain the opportunity to share incredible underwater achievements with others - transforming their lives for the better while enriching yours.

PADI Mermaid Instructors can teach the Basic Mermaid course, Mermaid course and Advanced Mermaid course as well as conduct the Discover Mermaid experience.

Skills / Knowledge

  • Training and experience in how to teach Mermaiding.
  • PADI Advanced Mermaids who meet the requirements of the course and agree to use the PADI System and components in their entirety may apply to become a PADI Mermaid Instructor.

To become a Mermaid Instructor, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be an Advanced Mermaid (or qualifying certification)
- Have completed the Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Course within the past 24 months (or qualifying CPR/first aid course)
 - Current medical statement by a physician
